"The forest turned red"

Films: Abominable (2006)

Alias: None

Type: Natural

Location: Forest/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Twice that of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Evil

Summary: Bigfoots are everywhere around these parts when it comes to cinema. From the endearingly warm and fuzzy to the utterly savage meat-eaters. Can you guess which area this ultra-violent monster falls into?

History: In the forests of Flatwoods, Virginia, there is a monster lurking in the shadows. It is a bigfoot, and it loves nothing more than to snatch unlucky prey up and violently tear it to pieces before gorging itself. On one particular night, it will make itself known, and it will paint the trees with the blood of its victims.

Notable Kills: A woman is pulled through a window to the point where she folds in half. Also, seeing that bigfoot bite off a guy's upper jaw with an unhinged mouth was not something we were hoping to see.

Final Fate: After getting an axe embedded in its back, the bigfoot is brought down when a car rams it into a tree, embedding the axe further and reducing its organs to paste. However, the beast disappears from the place it got pinned...and it's later revealed that there's a whole tribe of bigfoot obviously not happy about the death of one of their own.

Powers/Abilities: This particular bigfoot is able to unhinge its jaw enough to engulf more than half a human head. It is also quite resilient.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 4-Picture for a moment a giant hairy ape-man with a perpetually crazed expression and big yellow teeth. Now imagine it being very strong and with rather unnatural abilities. Add that to some borderline sadism, and you have this horrific cryptid.

Trivia: -There already is a Flatwoods monster, though it's more described as looking like a hovering alien humanoid that many have hypothesized is just a series of disproportionately reported owl sightings.

-The bigfoot's roars were mostly achieved by slowing down horse noises.
